This is a contact page – believe it or not. And, yes, it is a little odd that there’s a picture of a rat here rather than a photo of the author.
But, as you’ll discover as you continue to explore the site, Deb just turns up and writes. Sometimes it really is easier not to question some of the things that are going on around here. Choose your battles and all that. She’s also discovered that Mama Rat is very determined and has decided this page is called ‘Ask Mama Rat’ instead of ‘Contact.’
One good thing about Mama Rat deciding that she wants to be in charge of the questions coming into the site is that she’s a really good listener. She hears everything so she probably knows what’s going on around here better than anyone. Anything you need to know? Just ask. You do have to flex your rat-speak muscles: get really quiet and listen for her answer.
Or you could write a question in the form below. That’s a bit like ratty roulette. It may get to Deb, or it may get to Mama – I guess it depends who finds it first. And, yes, Mama Rat scurries very fast so I wouldn’t put it past her to take over and answer all the questions.
Deb – or they – would love to hear from you. Ask a question, leave a comment, share a book rec. But, more importantly, introduce yourself.

The Score So Far…

Ok, so there’s a friendly (or not-so-friendly depending on who you ask) competition going on. You ask a question and either Deb or Ratty (Deb’s affectionate name for Mama Rat – we can’t decide if it’s sweet or a slight on her temperament…) will answer it. Here is the score so far. Deb’s trying to pretend it’s all in good fun, but she’s being extra vigilant about checking for any questions coming through that great virtual post box in the sky. Answers to your questions can be found on the blog, amongst other articles, notes, and points of interest (unless it’s a question that needs to be answered and sent to you alone).
You can also ask Ratty a question. She’ll love it. She’ll start to think this whole site is really just for her. She might be right.
