Our walk with God is mysterious
There is so much we can’t explain or know for sure. It is a true walk of Faith: taking one step after another and trusting when we can’t see the way forward. Can we trust God? Yes. Will it be easy? Not always. Will he expect things from us that will feel too big for us? At times. Will he expect great sacrifice from us? In some form or another. Should we be frightened? No, not when our Lord is by our side no matter what happens.
We can develop a connection with Him that is deeper than anything we’ve experienced before. It may not be like other people experience Him, but we can count on several things: reading His word will renew us in ways we never knew possible; spending time with Him will become more precious than we imagined; and the Divine Mysteries surrounding him are infinite and unknowable to our human minds. We can momentarily grasp something, and then it shifts beyond our understanding. To live in knowing and unknowing makes our hearts soar because we know there is a mind beyond ourselves more powerful than we can fathom. A Father who has a vision greater than we can imagine. We just have to trust Him within that wonder.
How can we make a difference when we have no idea what God expects from us? We can start with where we are right now and add to the world one small step, one tiny action, one quiet connection at a time. It might not be big or loud but it can still have an encouraging, maybe even a transformational, effect on the people around us.
